Please read these terms carefully before using Runplanner.

The Short Version
Runplanner is a free route planning app. Use it to plan runs, share routes with friends, and navigate outdoors. The app is provided "as is" — always use your own judgment when running, stay aware of your surroundings, and follow local traffic laws.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Runplanner ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Runplanner is a mobile application that allows you to:
- Plan running routes by placing waypoints on an interactive map
- Get routes automatically snapped to roads and paths
- Generate roundtrip routes for a target distance
- Use turn-by-turn navigation along planned routes
- Save, share, and import routes via QR codes and links
- Record running activities with GPS tracking
3. User Responsibilities
Safety First
You are solely responsible for your personal safety while using the App. Always be aware of your surroundings, follow local traffic laws, and use common sense when running outdoors. Routes generated by the App are suggestions and may not always reflect real-world conditions such as road closures, construction, or unsafe areas.
Appropriate Use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not use route sharing features to distribute harmful, offensive, or misleading content.
Device Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device. Since all data is stored locally, loss or damage to your device may result in loss of your saved routes and activities.
4. Route Data & Accuracy
Route data, distances, elevation, and navigation instructions are generated using third-party mapping services (OpenStreetMap, OSRM, Mapbox, Open-Meteo) and local pathfinding algorithms. While we strive for accuracy:
Routes may not reflect current road conditions, closures, or seasonal access restrictions
Distance and pace calculations are estimates and may vary from actual measurements
GPS accuracy depends on your device hardware and environmental conditions
Weather data and elevation profiles are approximate and should not be relied upon for safety-critical decisions
5. Intellectual Property
The Runplanner app, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of Runplanner and is protected by applicable copyright laws.
Routes you create are yours. You retain full ownership of all route data, activity recordings, and workout plans you create within the App.
Map data is provided by Mapbox and OpenStreetMap contributors under their respective licenses.
6. Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services to provide mapping, routing, weather, and elevation features. These services have their own terms:
Mapbox
Map rendering. Subject to Mapbox Terms.
OpenStreetMap
Road data. Licensed under ODbL.
OSRM
Fallback route calculations. Open source routing engine.
Open-Meteo
Weather & elevation. Subject to Open-Meteo Terms.
Note: We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or reliability of third-party services. If a service becomes unavailable, some App features may be temporarily limited.
7. Sharing & Shared Content
When you share a route via QR code or link, the route data (waypoints, name, pace) is encoded in the shared content. Shared links may be stored temporarily on our servers to enable short URL functionality.
You are responsible for the content you share. Do not share routes that intentionally lead through dangerous or restricted areas.
When you import a route shared by another user, you do so at your own risk. Always review imported routes before using them for navigation.
8. Limitation of Liability
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Runplanner shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
Personal injury or property damage resulting from following routes
Loss of data due to device failure or app uninstallation
Inaccurate route data, distances, or navigation instructions
Service interruptions due to third-party provider outages
9. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. This will remove all locally stored data. We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any of its features at any time without prior notice.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
